Alexandra graduated from Selwyn College, Cambridge with first class honours in Music in 2006. While there she received a University Instrumental Award, and led the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra, as well as appearing as a soloist. For five years she was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, and in 2004 its leader. In summer 2007 she toured Europe and the Far East with the European Union Youth Orchestra. She has just completed postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music under Erich Gruenberg, where she was awarded a scholarship as Project Manager of the Leverhulme Mentoring Scheme for 2007-8.
Charlotte is currently finishing her second year at the Royal Academy of Music where last year she led the RAM String Orchestra, and was awarded both the Sir John Barbirolli and the Franz Rezenstein prizes. For four years she was a member of the National Children’s Orchestra, and in her last year its leader. In 2002, as the year’s youngest violinist, she began five years with the NYO, and was leader in 2005 and 2006. She has performed under Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Cohn Davies at the BBC Proms, and has played live on BBC3 with a quartet from the NYO.
Elizabeth is currently working as a freelance pianist
and organist in London and throughout the UK. She was educated at Uppingham School and spent
her Gap Year as Assistant Organist at Winchester College before becoming Organ Scholar at
Christ Church, Oxford, where she read for a music degree, graduating with First Class Honours
in June 2005. Elizabeth studies the piano with Michael Dussek and from September 2007 has
continued her piano accompaniment studies with a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music.
As both pianist and organist she has broadcast on national TV and live on BBC Radio 3 and 4,
has appeared on commercial CD recordings and has toured in Europe, USA and New Zealand. Aside
from performing, Elizabeth currently teaches at Abingdon School, Eton College and the London
Oratory School, as well as administrating the rapidly-expanding Oxford Lieder Festival.
